Architecture's competition 2017

Fondation d'entreprise Bénéteau is organising its seventh annual competition for students enrolled at a European architecture, engineering, design or art school or attending a university course relevant to the stated objective. This year the competition relates to the design of a catamaran.

The BENETEAU Foundation is committed to encouraging and promoting environmental protection in the world of yachting, construction and housing, to showcasing naval heritage and to raising public awareness on environmental protection issues.
The BENETEAU company foundation was created in January 2005, on the initiative of BENETEAU Group SA and its subsidiaries Chantiers BENETEAU SA, Chantiers JEANNEAU SA and Construction Navale Bordeaux.
 

The BENETEAU Foundation is focused on the following three priority areas :

Encouraging and promoting environmental protection in the world of yachting, construction and housing, through innovative
projects, research and the emergence of businesses contributing towards creation and innovation in these sectors.
Safeguarding and showcasing naval heritage.
Saising public awareness on environmental protection issues, particularly in the yachting world


Over the past five years, the BENETEAU Foundation has been working in four areas

Promoting businesses contributing towards creation and innovation in the yachting world
Supporting innovative projects benefiting communities living near marine environments and nautical activities through the
creation of a sailing school in Qindao, China, a sea school in Tuléar, Madagascar, the building of fishing catamarans in
Sri Lanka, etc...
Encouraging innovative projects and research likely to benefit the yachting world through the development of a unique
parallel hybrid propulsion concept in partnership with the firm ZF, presented at the boat shows in Paris (2009) and
Düsseldorf (2010).
Safeguarding and showcasing naval heritage through its involvement in deploying the permanent Cité de la Voile exhibition   in Lorient and the temporary exhibition devoted to Eric Tabarly, through the refurbishment of several boats to celebrate
Jeanneau's 50th anniversary, through its initiative to collect Chantiers BENETEAU archives, etc...
 
The Foundation is interested in finding out about and reviewing any projects that are in line with its three new focus areas.

4 prize-winners for the architecture's competition 2012

In 2012 the Bénéteau Foundation organized an educational competition inspired by the architecture for the mobile-home of the future. It was quite a success as about 100 students of different design, architecture and fine arts French schools registered for the competition.
On June 7th 2012, the awards ceremony was hold at “Le lieu du design” in Paris .
The panel of professionals, chaired by Mrs Annette Roux, Bénéteau Foundation’s President, selected the prize-winners of the competition :

First prize (6,000 Euros): Sandra Robert-Tissot, of the graduate school of architecture of Lille, for the project “Summer break/wintry landscape”
Second prize (4,000 Euros): Team “Aka”, of the graduate school of architecture of Grenoble, for the project “Cocci-Casa”
Third prize (2,000 Euros) : Sophie Wittmann, of the graduate shool of architecture of Paris Malaquais, for the project “Home Flex”.
Special prize: Anne Genest, of the graduate school of fine arts of Lyon, for the project : “Light House”.




Design competition's success

In 2011 the Bénéteau Foundation organized an educational competition inspired by the interior design for the boat of the future. It was quite a success as students of 10 different design and architecture schools registered for the competition.
On December 2nd, 2011 the awards ceremony was hold at Porte de Versailles in connection with the Paris Boat Show.
The panel of professionals, chaired by Mrs Annette Roux, Bénéteau Foundation’s President, selected the prize-winners of the competition :

First prize (6,000 Euros) : Team “David & David” for the project "Slice of life"
Second prize (3,000 Euros) : Team “André Douane” for the project "E-Sens"
Third prize (3,000 Euros) : Team “Boite Chamfrein” for the project "Lux 47"
